Principal Software Engineer

Quiq is looking for a highly skilled software engineer with experience in designing, building, and maintaining complex distributed systems. As a principal software engineer you will help lead the development team in creating the highly scalable solutions required by some of the world’s largest companies as they communicate with hundreds of thousands of their customers across a variety of mobile channels on a daily basis. Taking these systems from the drawing board to reality, and successfully releasing and maintaining them in production is critical to Quiq’s success in the coming years. We are looking for someone who can help steer the ship in a significant way as we continue to grow!

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of industry experience

  • Proven track record of successfully building, maintaining and scaling complex distributed systems

  • Thrives in an environment that values and fosters creativity, initiative & accountability

  • Possesses a broad array of ‘brass tacks’ engineering skills in areas such as distributed systems, persistence solutions, runtime diagnostics/debugging & performance analysis

  • Eager to work in a fast-paced environment without silos and unnecessary process between engineering, operations & QA. (Developers are largely responsible for releasing their own software changes and monitoring them in production)

  • Values both the ideal solution and the pragmatic solution and helps the business make the best decision

  • Works well with other developers and can act as a technical leader of large design and implementation initiatives

  • Recent experience in JVM-based microservices is preferred
